The Carey junior high football team improved its record to two wins and no losses. The offense was led by outstanding running by Jimmy Feaster along with strong running by Tom Daddino. Great defense was played by T.J. Lopez, Tom Daddino and Jimmy Feaster. The Seahawk's won by a score of 34 to 12. The Carey varsity football team defeated South Side 28-14 before a capacity homecoming crowd. The Seahawks rode the combination of quarterback Bryan Baebler to wide receiver Tom DeBonis and the spectacular running of Sal Monastero. Monastero's 80 yard run gave the Seahawks the lead for good. Congratulations to the girls volleyball team as they showed a tremendous amount of heart and came back from a two game deficit to beat Plainedge in five games. Kim Lapinski and Val Riccobono had great all around games. The entire team pulled together to earn this win. The JV football team defeated South Side High School 8-0 raising the teams record to 6-1 for the season. The Seahawks boys varsity soccer team crushed an unsuspecting Manhasset by a score of 5-1. Dom Cervoni led the attack scoring a hat trick and presently leads the league in scoring. Brian Truglio and Jason Dakis scored to aid the Seahawks, assisting the goals were John Cesarano with two, Greg Profeta and Matt Sangirardi. Strong defense by Mike Scortino, James Cano and J.J. Hughes held Manhasset to four shots all game.

The Carey girl's cross country team placed sixth in the conference championship and qualified for the county championship. The team was led by Liz Eymold who placed second and broke her own school record with a time of 19:00.8. other scorers for Carey were Maria Rewiako, Melissa Yanek, Shannon Magone and Lauren Moran.

The boys team, riddled by injuries, did not qualify for the counties. But Kevin Mille did place 12th in the conference championship with a personal best time of 16:44 for the 3.1 mile race. This will advance Kevin as an individual to the county finals.

The Carey boys junior high soccer team defeated Floral Park by a score of 2 to 1. Carey was down one nothing when Jonathan Rivera scored the equalizing goal with an assist from Craig Petito and Tim Spadola. The winning goal came from Alex Cervini with an assist from Travis Salkey. Greg Riccardi was excellent in goal. The Nassau County sophomore cross-country championships, Lauren Moran ran a personal best of 22:49 on the 3.1 mile course to place 10th in the race.
