The Woman's Club of Franklin Square celebrated their 52nd anniversary on Monday, Oct. 11 at the VFW Hall on Lincoln Road.

Eleanor Kaupp, 1st vice president, reminded members that she will be chairing the Nov. 8 dessert card party. This is our annual fund raiser. Members have been asking merchants to donate prizes and members as well will donate prizes. The profits will go into our student fund for our June scholarships.

We were happy that our historian and founder, Flo Carway was able to attend. She spoke about the background of this club and how proud she is that it is still in existence after 52 years. Jo Schlosser, 1st vice president, presented her with a long stem white rose. She then honored each of our past presidents with a rose. They were: Lea Olynciw, Louise Milano, Edith Grant and Jo Schlosser. Flo also introduced our Honorary Life Members: Mickey Hesselbach and Miriam Knaueert. Miriam now lives in Florida and visits with us once a year. It was a pleasure to have her with us. Safe trip home, Miriam. Marge Gollatz is also a Honorary Life member but could not be with us. Our get well wishes to Marge.

Jo Wood, Ways and Means chairperson, reported on our trip to the Bay Way Arts Center to see the musical Big. We have a full bus. She has done a fine job.

Ann Puglisi, our co-president, has filled in for Marge Gollatz, our hospitality chairperson, while Marge is recuperating. We miss you Marge.

The president adjourned the meeting and members enjoyed the anniversary cake. We then had a musical program by John LaRosa, our Mr. Musicman.

Remember to vote on Nov. 2 and don't forget the dessert card party on Nov. 8. Admission is $2.
