    Following a trend of appointing rather than electing its new members to board seats, the Town of Hempstead swore Gary Hudes and Robert Barra in as the newest members of the board on July 27. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: EAC Golf Classic

    In honor of its 30th anniversary, the Education and Assistance Corporation (EAC) held its 10th Annual Golf and Tennis Classic at the North Hills Country Club. The outing was EAC's most successful event in the agency's history and everyone who attended had a wonderful day. Pictured (l-r) Joe Saudo of Elmont; Patricia Bisca of South Huntington; and Ernie Carella of Miller Place. EAC is a not-for-profit social services agency providing educational, vocational and counseling services for families, youth and the disadvantaged, rehabilitation for non-violent offenders and support to the aged. Some of EAC programs include Meals-On-Wheels, developmental learning programs, supervised visitation and women's opportunity resource center. FULL STORY
