Margaret Connolly, Avraham Davis, Danny Fang, Melissa Ginsburg. Adina Levine, Patrick Quinlan and Maife Santillan are the recipients of scholarship awards from the West Hempstead Community Scholarship Fund.

The 30th Annual Awards Dinner was held June 13 at the Pompei Restaurant. Each student received a $2000 scholarship. Members of the educational system and community residents presented the recipients with their awards.

Thirty years of giving by the West Hempstead Community Scholarship Fund was celebrated with the presentation of a proclamation by Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta and Nassau County Legislator Vincent Muscarella declaring June 13, 1999 as West Hempstead Community Scholarship Fund Day in Nassau County.

Since the fund was established in 1969, it has distributed $209,000 to 195 students. Students are selected for the award on the basis of their potential, character and need for financial assistance.
