George F. Schaedel, formerly of Elmont, died on June 1, 1999. He was a US Army veteran and a retired deputy inspector with NYPD Manhattan North. Husband of Edna Rottach Schaedel. Father of Joanne Blum, William J., Peter G. and Rev. Jan Michael Schaedel. Brother of Joan Wrotman. Grandfather of eight. Arrangements were made by the DeFriest Funeral Home, Mattituck. Son of Evelyn and the late Howard (Buzz). Brother of Patricia Edwards (Richard), William (Helen) and Glen. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and a nephew.
