The Woman's Club of Franklin Square met on May 10 at the VFW Hall on Lincoln Road for our annual reports and planning meeting.

The slate of officers for 1999-2000 was approved and the Recording Secretary, Lea Olynciw cast one ballot for the entire slate. Nominating Committee Chairperson, Mickey Hesselbach read the following slate of officers: President, Clara Cassano; Co-President, Ann Puglisi; 1st Vice President, Jo Schlosser; 2nd Vice President, Eleanor Kaupp; Recording Secretary, Lea Olynciw; Corresponding Secretary, Norma Snedeker; Treasurer, Emily VanDamm; Financial Secretary, Mickey Hesselbach; Historian, Flo Carway.

Jo Schlosser will be researching programs for next year and Jo Migliore will check into a fund-raiser trip. Edith Grant will decide if an Atlantic City bus trip will be feasible.

Eleanor Kaupp has made plans for our June 14 installation luncheon. It will be held at Carmela's Restaurant and Louise Milano will be our installing officer.

Phyllis Bellero who is in charge of our monthly dark horse raffle announced we had three winners.

Our annual donation to the West Nassau Mental Health was given to Lea Olynciw who will present it to the health facility director. Memorial Education Awards are being prepared and will be presented with a check to one student in each of our elementary schools. Sewanhaka High School and H. Frank Carey will submit us the names of their scholarship winners and Lea Olynciw will present them at the awards assembly.

Before we adjourned for our dessert and social we were pleased to have a guest speaker, Max Lewis from the Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs. He was very informative and gave us hints on what we must do before singing contracts or making major purchases. Also he made us aware of supermarket pricing and how we should pay attention.

Memorial Day parade will be held on May 31. Meeting at the VFW Hall at 9:30 a.m. A few members will be marching to represent our club. Be proud to fly our flag.
