Geraldine Snipas was a physics teacher who taught at Elmont Memorial High School for 12 years. She was the consummate professional. She loved her students and her profession. She was a dedicated teacher who approached her classes with the same enthusiasm and energy of a brand new teacher. Her love for Elmont Memorial High School was evident in all she did, whether it was taking pictures of our students and teachers of the month, her involvement in the Science Fair, or her positive approach in her classroom. She was loved and respected by students, faculty, and parents alike.
Gerry had a deep love for science and for her students. A scholarship fund has been established in her name so her memory will live on at Elmont Memorial High School. The proceeds from this tournament will go to this fund.
The tradition of the Geraldine Memorial Golf Tournament continues in this, its fifth year. This year's golf outing will be held at Lido Golf Course on July 13. The donation includes 18 holes of golf with an electric cart, a golf "goodie bag," lunch, refreshments on the course, a buffet dinner, a three hour open bar, use of the driving range, door prizes and raffles, prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin, putting contests, and use of both the locker room and showers. Space is limited and time is running out to take advantage of the "early bird special."
