Coach Gregg Petrocelli has proudly announced that Nassau County has honored three varsity women's basketball players. Senior Hope Johnson received All-County recognition. The team's captain was the Lady Spartans' leading scorer averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds a game. Coach Petrocelli added that Hope was the team's leading all around player. Faith Johnson was the recipient of All-Conference honors. As the team's other captain, she averaged 10 points and 12 rebounds a game. Shaketa McKoy was honored with All-Division recognition for her 8 points and 7 rebounds a game. Petrocelli stated, "Shaketa was the best defender on the team with 4 steals a game."
This powerhouse trio of seniors will be sorely missed but will go down in Elmont history for their tremendous accomplishments, unmatched sportsmanship, and leadership on and off the court. We wish them best of luck in the future.
