The Visiting Nurse Association of LI Meals on Wheels Program will begin delivering meals from South Nassau Communities Hospital's kitchen on May 3. The South Nassau kitchen, under the supervision of food Services Director William Sink, Chief Dietitian Mary Grafagnino and Executive Chef Steven Bello will be providing approximately 50 hot and 50 cold meals each weekday to Meals on Wheels clients in the Lynbrook, Malverne, East Rockaway and Valley Stream areas.
Marie Parker, MOW program administrator is delighted with the new arrangement. "We have been working for months to try and find a high quality local kitchen site to provide meals. Bill, Mary and Steve are extremely caring and dedicated professionals and we know that this will be a wonderful and successful partnership. We thank South Nassau Communities Hospital, and especially hospital Vice President of Administration William Ulrich, for providing this service to the community. Thanks also to the more than 50 dedicated volunteers who will be delivering the meals."
