The Woman's Club of Franklin Square had its St. Patrick's Day Luncheon on March 8 at the VFW Hall on Lincoln Road, our monthly meeting hall.
Eleanor Kaupp, second vice president and chairperson of the April meeting, reminded members that next month will be the White Elephant Sale. Please bring items you no longer need and see how they can be exchanged. Your trash could be someone else's treasure. This is an important fund raiser.
A nominating committee was appointed. Mickey Hesselbach is chairperson and her committee is: Edith Grant, Emily VanDamm, Lea Olynciw and Ann Pugilisi. Good Luck!
Edith Grant is planning an Atlantic City bus trip on April 26. Checks are due as soon as possible. We need this fund raiser for the June school scholarships.
A motion was passed to donate $100 to the Historical Society's Building Fund.
After the business meeting, we adjourned and enjoyed our luncheon. Thanks to Jo Schlosser, 1st vice president and chairperson, our luncheon was a success. Mickey Hesselbach, Margie Gollatz, members who helped in the kitchen and members who baked some delicious desserts also have our special thanks. The luncheon was catered by Valley Caterers.
John LaRosa at the keyboard with his great music made the day. He had members dancing and singing Irish tunes.
Phyllis Bellero sold chances for our monthly Dark Horse raffle and five members won $5 each.
Get well wishes to our founder Flo Carway.
Till next month, enjoy the coming of spring!
