The Elmont Memorial High School varsity football team is proud to announce that Jeffry Alphonse, Ian Jackson and Frank Stanley received post season awards from Nassau County.

Jeffry Alphonse has been awarded All-County honors. This prestigious award is presented to the top 44 players from Nassau County. He also represented Elmont Memorial in the Nassau County Exceptional Senior Game played at Hofstra University. Jeff has been a two year starter for the Spartans where he played runningback and linebacker. He amassed over 1,400 yards during his last two seasons including a 1998 season best of 199 yards rushing vs. Valley Stream Central. This year Jeff showed tremendous leadership as the captain of the team. He plans to attend Ithaca College or St. John's University this fall.

Ian Jackson has been awarded All-Conference recognition. His biggest achievement was being named to the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete team where he was honored at the New York Downtown Athletic Club. Ian was a two-year starter and served as the quarterback and captain of the team. He threw eight touchdown passes and rushed for five. He is a true leader on the field and in the classroom which is why he has already been accepted to Hampton University and Ohio State University.

Frank Stanley also won All-Conference honors. Frank, a junior, is an inspiration on the field where he played center and linebacker. He is an extremely hard worker who coach Capozzi will be glad to have back next season.
