Like "Old Man River" the Floral Park Knights of Columbus bowlers "just keep rollin' along"--and do they ever! Last Thursday's session at the Bellerose Lanes was another night of pin punishing by the local Caseys, in a fashion that lets everyone know that they are in town and are going to make their presence felt.
The top hotshot was Chet (what again?) Strzepek who finally got into high gear, posting a beauty of a 627 set that included a 267 solo masterpiece as Bob Mashburn dogged Chet's heels, shooting a 620 trio built on 211 and 215 solos. Mike Gallagher and "Knobby" Gregory crossed the finish line hand-in-hand at 529 with Mike cranking out a 203 and 208 while "Knobby" fashioned 211 and 205 loners and Bob Sheehan's 584showed a 211 game. Jim Kearney's 212 one-gamer led to a 566 set, a step ahead of Joe Silvestri's 212 solo, 558 trio while Ed Hackimer trailed with a 545 three-gamer that had a 221 loner in its make-up. A John Bartow 209 single led to a 538 triple, Richie Biggin had a 530, edging Frank Dehler's 524 and John O'Grady's 517 was a whisker up on Paul Simonetti's 515. Cliff Weinberg posted a 513 and Eddy Goodloe was the caboose on the star train with a 501.
Team action saw Eddy Hackimer's Dead Wood crew down the Starr Reporters, bossed by Pat Sweeney while Eddy Goodloe and his Goodo's Four bested the Joe-Oswald led Lugerites. Bob Mashburn and his Good Guys took the measure of Pat Murphy's Whaco 2 combine while the Tom Moore-less Pallbearers downed Mike Honan's Mr. CP quartet. Ending the night's action, the Regals captained by John O'Grady, took the measure of the BOSS gang with Paul Simonetti calling signals. On an evening to be remembered all five contests ended in 5-2 scores.
