Born in Manhattan, she graduated from high school and attended one year of secretarial school. She worked for Republic Steel as a secretary. She was president of the Franklin Square Women's Club and the H. Frank Carey High School PTA. She also participated in the Franklin Square Exchange Student Program. She later worked as a legal secretary. After moving to Bricktown, NJ, she participated in the Lions Head Homeowners Association. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur and her son, Donald. She is survived by her children, Karen Christie and Richard; her brothers, John Curtin, James Curtin and William Murphy; her sister, Rita Moore of Dublin, Ireland; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
