Carey Homecoming a Winner Both On and Off the Field
Homecoming at H. Frank Carey High School is one of the most anticipated events for students, faculty, and members of the community. With our wonderful band, our play-off bound football team (hopefully), the talented cheerleaders, the color guard, the Pirettes, and, of course, the amazing mascot, this past weekend's Homecoming parade and football game were part of one of the most festive affairs ever held at Carey.

Average Tax Increase $47 Per County Homeowner
After grappling for weeks with what many of its members described as a "shaky" budget proposal, the county Legislature on Oct. 30 adopted a fiscal plan that will increase taxes on all homeowners by about $4 a month, or $47 a year on a property assessed at $7,200.

Knights of Columbus Bowling
Frank Dehler, in a blazing exhibition of kegling, ripped the record book to shreds, as he posted a 703 series and nonchalantly made the "unbelievable" 200 average level -- two accomplishments never before reached in the league's 58-year history. He wrecked the lumber, with a 255, tapered off to a 214 but reloaded and finished with a fine 234, to put the finishing touches to his masterpiece.
