Oct. 24, semifinal playoff game: The first game of the season ending playoffs matched Eva Keaveney's Algonquins (Farmdale Farms) against Mike Finnegans Shosone (Dr. Smollons DDs). Both teams played with great intensity and finished regulation time tied at 1-1. The Shoshone came out on top in sudden death overtime, 2-1. For the Shoshone, Jessica Samms tied the score and Elizabeth Pica scored the game winner in overtime. For the Algonquins, Bridget Todd scored. Rosemary Castillo was super in goal and all the girls played well.
Oct. 24, final playoff game: The championship game was a battle to the finish. Ed Visone's Incas (All State the Capaldi Agency) defeated Mike Finnegan's Shoshane (Dr. Smollons DDS). Both teams were tied at 2-2 after regulation play and sudden death overtime, when Jennifer Garcia scored the winner for the Incas in a nail-biting shootout. For the Incas, Emily Visone was great in defense. Colleen Hawley and Alanna Rodriguez scored. Amanda Schwartz was super in goal.
Jose Criollo's Arapaho (Lakeview Deli) vs. Sandi Blais' Aztec (Coral House)
For the Arapaho - Stephen Forlenza scored with a great assist from Paul Marcy. Luke Homer and Danny Boehm were outstanding between the pipes.
For the Aztec - Colin McKay and Altan Enon scored. Stephen Morello, John Susino and Joseph Abitabile played great all around game. Doug Reda was a fortress on defense.
Ed Visone's Erie (Dr. Guttenberg, DDS) vs. Carol Misiano's Hurons (Vincent's Clam Bar)
For the Erie - Cameron Mitchell scored. Brian Joyce and Travis Pendergast covered the field like a glove. Casey Sammon was fantastic in goal.
For the Hurons - Ryan Kleshefsky and Anthony Marisi played phenomenal games. Anthony Misiano and Albert Fennes were tough on defense.
Sean Sullivan's Shoshone (W.H. Deli) vs. Mark Orlic's Kickapoo (Sentinel Printing)
For the Shoshone - Briana Sullivan robbed the Kickapoo of many goals. Lisa Nappi covered the entire field and controlled the ball for the Shoshone.
For the Kickapoo - Lisa Cassata and Melissa Banks scored. Andrea Manos was superb on defense.
Carol Misiano's Hurons (Vincent's Clam Bar) vs. Jose Criollo's Arapaho (Lakeview Deli)
For the Hurons - Anthony Misiano scored with beautiful assists from Kerel Bradford. Joseph Magaraci was relentless on defense.
For the Arapaho - Jon Paul Marcy, Danny Boehm and Stephen Forienza scored. Luke Homer played another great game on defense.
Sean Sullivan's Shoshone (W.H. Deli) vs. Rob Callanan's Zuni (Chicken Holiday)
For the Shoshone - Allie Kelly executed some great passes. Lisa Nappi played super "D". Christina Dunne and Chelsea Samms denied the Zuni in the net. Jessica Dunne made a beautiful stop on a Zuni rush.
For the Zuni - Casey Klimkowsky showed great team spirit. Anne Waterhouse and Kaitlin Kennedy scored. Briana Sullivan (selflessly on loan from the Shoshone) gave the team a tremendous boost and almost scored.
Mark Orlic's Kickapoo (Sentinel Printing) vs. Paul Meyers Puma (Meyers Wires)
For the Kickapoo - Lisa Cassata and Rachel Appel scored. Tina Marie Madia had her best game of season as she made a beautiful drag back. Amanda Rouch was great on defense.
For the Shoshone - Nicole Luculano and Amelia Derrosse were all over the field. Michelle Meyers controlled the ball well and Allison Main narrowly missed the net.
