Chet Strzepek decided it was time to hit the level to which he belongs and hit it he did, rolling a 202 loner on the way to a "top hotshot" 569 set, a step ahead of Bob Mashburn's 202 single, 561 triple. Frank Dehler grabbed the third alot at 556, edging out a Jack Brickman 201 single, 553 total. Bob Sheehan's 225 beauty gave him a 550 to put on the books, a whisker up on Mike Gallagher's 199 solo, 549 trio, while Charley Bingold was fashioning a solid 547. Paul Simonetti banged out a 220 solo on the way to a 522 trio, a tad up on Eddy Hackimer's 520 and a John bartow 507. Mike Honan, rolling a 208 and Pat Murphy, a 200 single, squeezed into the charmed circle.
Team action saw Eddy Goodloe lead his Goodo's Four to a 5-2 win over The Good Guys, bossed by Bob Mashburn while John Luger was piloting his Lugerites to a 7-0 whitewash of Eddy Hackimer's Dead Wood combine. Pat Murphy's Whaco crew took Tommy Moore's Pallbearers into camp via a 5-2 count and the Pat Sweeney-led Starr rEporters did likewise, handing John O'Grady and his Regals a 5-2 setback. Ending the action for the night, the BOSS four, with John Bartow calling signals, did a 5-2 number on the Mr. CP forces of Mike Honan.
