The newest addition to the smash hit Town of North Hempstead golf complex is the outstanding nine-hole Executive Course, which opened for business this week.

A noted golf course reviewer recently wrote that this new course will be "equally important on the golf scene" as the 18 hole Harbor Links Championship Course, and "will provide an excellent place for juniors to learn the game while still being a challenge to veteran players."

Recently, Town Supervisor May Newburger stated her opinion that "the wonderful nine-hole course will be the course of first choice for many of our golfers because of the convenience and speed of play." It will take significantly less time to play the Executive Course than the main Harbor Links Course.

Also open for business is the excellent 40 stall driving range, which costs as little as $3 for a bucket of 30 balls.

The town's new golf complex is located off West Shore Road, Port Washington, approximately opposite the entrance to beautiful Bar Beach Park. Golfers will be able to tee off on the nine-hole course from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. every day. Tee time reservation cardholders who are Town of North Hempstead residents will be able to make reservations for specific tee times up to six days in advance and non-residents with tee time cards can make reservations five days in advance). Those without tee time cards can make reservations three days in advance, or golfers can walk-up to play if space is available.

On weekdays (Monday through Thursday), resident adults can play the nine-hole course for $15, non-residents for $18 and resident seniors, volunteer firefighters and disabled persons for $14. Those 16 and under can play for $10. On weekends, the greens fee is $18 for residents and $24 for non-residents.

Tee time reservation cards are available seven days a week and cost $35 for 1998. For reservations, please call 1-877-3HARBOR (1-877-342-7267). For other general information about the town's golf complex, please call 767-4816.
