Attending the New York '98 Goodwill Games was a dream come true for Christian Ekunwe, a 15-year-old Malverne High School freshman, who received two tickets to the international sporting event from Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin (D-Westbury).

Christian, who will be entering the ninth grade in September, has competed in several track and field events in the Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged. Through the years he has earned 15 medals at the games. Christian brought along several of the medals when he met with Legislator Corbin at the County Executive Building in Mineola this week.

"I'm glad I could help in some small way to enable Christian to attend the Goodwill Games," Legislator Corbin said. "I hope he will draw inspiration from watching some of the top athletes in the world compete."

Christian and a friend were treated to an evening of track and field events at the newly renovated Mitchel Athletic Complex.
