With the finish line almost in sight - just two weeks away - the Floral Park Knights of Columbus bowlers continue to belabor the wood in a fashion that smacks of opening night or early season.

The momentum that has been present in every night's action, during the entire season, hasn't diminished one iota and the final weeks of "Brotherly Bombardment" promise a continuance of the outstanding maple-mauling that has become the Council 2345 trademark.

Tommy (Once More) Moore grabbed The Brass Ring in The Hotshot Merry-Go-'Round, carding a 620 set built on a 203 and a 246 beauty with Paul Simonetti in the second slot, using a 236 nifty to post a 576 three-gamer. An Eddy Hackimer 216 single led to a 572 triple, edging John Bartow's solid 569 and a Chet Strzepek 556 that had a 230 loner in its make-up, while Bob Mashburn was fashioning a 553 series, showing a 213 one-gamer. Rich Lahey's 199 "almost" earned him a 552 set, a whisker up on Mike Gallagher's 549 that had a 232 solo in its makeup and Joe Oswalk cranked out a solid 528. Mike Honan's 521 edged a Pat Murphy 516 and Mike Derby's 510 while "Knobby" Gregory spilled 501 sticks. Bob Sheehan made The Elites with a 364 two-game total.

Team action saw Ted Nowacki's Whacos whitewash the Eddy Goodloeled Gloms in a 7-0 rout while Paul Simonetti was piloting his Team MOSS to a 5-2 decision over Joe Oswald and his Shumstetters. The Standing Pat combine, bossed by Pat Murphy, did a 7-0 blanking of Tony Morena's Team THREE crew, "Knobby" Gregory led his Íaints to a 5-2 nod over Jimmy O'Neill's Dot Heads and, closing out the night's action, the Mailmen, with Bob Mashburn in the driver's seat, did a 7-0 job on the J Crew, quarterbacked by Jim Kearney.
