The Floral Park Knights of Columbus Bowlers are a sad, downhearted crew. One would think they would be jumping for joy at the way they are toppling the lumber at the Bellerose Lanes, but they see the end of this very productive season coming in a very few weeks which brings sobering thoughts of days without pinfall.

Continuing the assault on the poor punished pins, Frank Dehler led the pack with a 623 set that showed games of 208, 219 and a 199 "almost," with Chet Strzepek crowding him, rolling a nifty 621 series built on games of 211, 209 and 201. Paul Simonetti made noise with a 608, that included games of 213 and 205; Jim Kearney's 257 solo led to a 591 trio and Tommy Moore used a 226 loner to card a 581. John Luger dumped 572 sticks, 206 in one outing, a whisker up on "Knobby" Gregory's solid 571 and an Eddy Hackimer 560. Mike Gallagher's 212 single gave him a 552 triple, Bob Mashburn's 225 one-gamer led to a 548 total, a step up on Eddy Goodloe's 545 and John Bartow was there with a 200 game, 533 set. Bob Sheehan had a 513, Joe Oswald a 506 built on a 200 loner and Mike Honan chimed in with a 201 single. Joe Corigliano just missed the elites, posting a 199 "almost."

Team action saw the league-leading Whacos, quarterbacked by Teddy Nowacki, whitewash the team THREE outfit, minus captain Tony Morena, in a 7-0 rout, while the Pat Sweeney-led Mailmen were downing Pat Murphy's Standing Pat four via a 6-2 count. Paul Simonetti piloted his team MOSS crew to a 7-0 shutout of Jimmy O'Neill's Dot Heads combo, "Knobby" Gregory's Saints did a 5-2 number on the Gloms with Eddy Goodloe calling signals and ending the night's action, the J Crew, led by Jim Kearney. blanked the Joe Oswald-led Shumstetters by a 7-0 score.
