Like Ol' Man River, the Floral Park Knights of Columbus bowlers just keep rollin' along, with every outing better than the one before while they shatter the record book, week after week, with almost unbelievable performances.

Last week's Columbian cannonading saw John Luger don the purple robes of Hotshot King as he cranked out games of 218 and 209, posting a fine 614 total while "Knobby" Gregory's 613 set, scored on 204 and 211 single beauties crowded John, and edged a nifty 612 series by Chet Strzepek that included a sizzling 227 solo. Mike Honan used a 256 masterpiece to put a 590 on the books, a few steps up on Bob Mashburn's 224 single, 568 triple and a Frank Dehler 204 loner, 546 count. Tommy Moore's 205 one-gamer led to a 543 set, a bit up on Pat Murphy's 537 that included a 205 single effort, as John Bartow's 536 crowded Pat. Richie Fitzmaurice downed 523 sticks, 202 in one outing while Eddy Goodloe was posting a 512, a step up on John O'Grady's 215 solo, 510 trio. Mike Derby shot a 504, Joe Corigliano, a 500, with a 210 game tossed in and Jim Kearney missed The Elites, with a 499 "almost" set, that included a 218 game.

Team action saw the Ted Nowacki-led Whacos add to their league-lead as they downed the Shumstetters, minus absent Capt. Joe Oswald, via a 5-2 count while the Mailmen, with Pat Sweeney as chief carrier eked out a nailbiter, 4-3, win over team MOSS, quarterbacked by Paul Simonetti. The Gloms, with Eddy Goodloe calling signals, blanked the team THREE four, bossed by Tony Morena, in a 7-0 rout, while "Knobby" Gregory's Saints were dropping a 5-2 decision to the Standing Pat forces, led by Pat Murphy. Ending the night's action, the Dot Heads, with Jimmy O'Neill at the wheel, handed Jim Kearney and his J Crew a 5-2 setback.
