Head for the storm cellar, fast! A rampaging juggernaut, better known as The Floral Park Knights of Columbus bowlers, is on the wild prowl, flattening everything in its path while putting unbelievable numbers in the record book, week after amazing week.

Mike Honan was Top Macho Man, tossing 217 and 241 solo beauties, on way to a fine 635 set while Bob Mashburn was chasing him with a 597 set built on games of 201 and 202. Tommy Moore used a 212 loner to card a 593 three-gamer, a step up on Paul Simonetti's 242 single, 580 triple while Rich Lahey's 218 solo led to a 574 trio. Chet Strzepek dumped 570 sticks, 204 in one outing; John Bartow's pair of 201s gave him a 560 set and Pat Murphy was a step behind, at 550, with a 206 tossed in. Frank Dehler's 205 game, 545 series led Tony Morena's 535, built on a 215 single shot while "Knobby" Gregory was spilling 523 pins. Joe Corigliano rolled a 521, and Eddy Hackimer made noise with a 205 single, 509 triple, a whisker up on Mike Gallagher's 506 total with a 204 loner tossed in. Eddy Goodloe's 203 game, 503 set edged a John Luger 502 and bringing up the rear, were John O'Grady and Pat Sweeney, doing a "brother" act, at 501.

Team action saw the Ted Nowacki-led Whacos add to their league lead with a 5-2 win over Paul Simonetti's team MOSS while The Mailmen, quarterbacked by Pat Sweeney, blanked the Glomas, bossed by Eddy Goodloe, in a 7-0 rout. Pat Murphy's Standing Pat combine rolled over "Knobby" Gregory's Saints, via a 7-0 count; Team Three, with Tony Morena calling signals, did a 5-2 number on the J-Crew forces of Jim Kearney and, completing the night's action, the Shumstetters, with Joe Oswald in the driver's seat, eked out a 4-3 nailbiter decision over Jimmy O'Neill's Dot Heads.
