We Knights take good care of one-another, seeing that everything goes well for our brothers and making every effort to have them be shown knowledgeable in all their predictions and protestations. Such has been the case with the Knights of Columbus bowlers when they saw the writer predicting big days ahead in their pin-spilling extravaganzas. Their "wood walloping," the past few weeks, bears out what was predicted in this column -- that they would put up plenty of eyebrow-raising numbers, as the season progressed and those readers, keeping tabls on the Caseys, now know they meant what they said.

Tommy Moore filled the Top Hotshot throne, as he used a 222 single to card a fine 589, just a whisker up on "Knobby" Gregory, whose 584 set included 231 and 207 games while Chet Strzepek took "show" with a 210 solo, 578 trio. A Bob Morena 227 loner led to a 555 total, Jim Kearney banged out a solid 551 and Pat Murphy posted a 548, built on a 199 "almost". Richie Biggin spilled 536 sticks, 209 in one outing, edging Mike Honan's solid 531 and a Frank Dehler 528 while John Bartow chimed in with a 515. Bob Mashburn and Paul Simonetti did a "brother act," both carding 505s, Joe Oswald rolled a 502 and John Luger squeezed onto the Elite List with a 500. Bob Sheehan was the caboose on the Star Train with a two-game total of 365 that included a 201 solo effort.

Team action saw Paul Simonetti pilot his Team Moss four to a 5-2 win over Ted Nowacki's Whacos while the J Crew, quarterbacked by Jim Kearney, whitewashed the Gloms, bossed by Eddy Goodloe, in a 7-0 rout. The Dot Heads, with Jimmy O'Neill calling signals, did a 5-2 number on Pat Sweeney and his Mailmen while the Standing Pat combine, with Pat Murphy in the driver's seat, shut out Joe Oswald and his Shumstetter crew, via a 7-0 count. Ending the action for the evening, the Tony Morena-led Team Three eked out a nailbiter 4-3 win over "Knobby" Gregory's Saints.
