Syosset Baseball Association would like to invite all Syosset Baseball players and families to the rededication ceremony for the Lewis Lane Field to be renamed, Michael Lewis Wolkis Field on May 30, at 10:45 a.m.
On Oct. 31, 2008, Michael was tragically hit by a vehicle that took his life. Michael, 15 years old, played baseball for Syosset Baseball Association since the age of 5 at t-ball until the end in the Senior League.
Thanks to the work of Supervisor John Venditto, Councilman Mr. Chris Coschignano, Director of Operations, Andrew Rothstein and other Town of Oyster Bay Officials, over the past six months, plans have been finalized to rededicate the Lewis Lane Field to Michael Lewis Wolkis Field.
Immediately following the ceremony, the first game played on the Michael Lewis Wolkis Field will be The Wolkis Warriors, managed by Jerry Wolkis, father of Michael Wolkis, vice president of Syosset Baseball Association versus Zach’s Slacks inaugurating the New Michael Lewis Wolkis Field.
