Alexa Riech a senior at Syosset High School has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete Division I Gymnastics for the University of Denver beginning in the fall of 2010. Alexa has been doing gymnastics since she was 4 years old and currently trains and competes at Hot Shots gymnastics in Plainview. She trains over 25 hours a week, 6 days a week.
This past May, Alexa competed at the JO National Championships in Seattle, Washington and placed 26th in the country. She also placed 7th on floor exercise and 14th on vault.
Alexa attended Baylis Elementary School and HB Thompson Middle School. She is on the honor roll at Syosset High School.
Her dream has always been to compete at a top Division I Gymnastics School. Denver is currently ranked 12th in the country in gymnastics.
