Autism Speaks annual walk took place on October 6 at Jones Beach with more than 30,000 participants. The heavy drizzle did nothing to dampen the spirits of all who gathered, according to Legislator Judy Jacobs, grandma of a 5-year-old who has autism.
“Spencer is the light of our lives and he is doing so well,” said Jacobs. “Early intervention is the key and supporting Autism Speaks is the way to give support to the efforts in finding and identifying all the skills out there to help the young people.” Spencer’s mom is Dr. Linda Jacobs of Syosset's Kid Fixers. His dad is Matthew Geller and his big sister is Sydney.
