Sophomore Attackman Mac O’Keefe of the Syosset Braves varsity lacrosse team recently announced a verbal commitment to Penn State, according to reports by LaxLessons, a source for lacrosse news.
The second in the class of 2016 to commit, after defender EJ Aronson committed to Army, O’Keefe made headlines this past May when he secured the quarterfinal win for the Braves in an intense triple overtime battle against MacArthur at Hofstra University.
Then a freshman, O’Keefe, exhausted, simply said: “I didn’t have that much time, so I just put it up in the corner of the net.”
Head coach for the Syosset Braves John Calabria has praised O’Keefe, saying: “We have a lot of confidence in Mac, he gets a lot of playing time for a freshman (at the time).”
