Practices Begin For SYAC Girls Softball Spring Season

Annual softball skills clinic to be held April 21

That familiar crack of the bat was back as several dozen teams from SYAC Girls Softball recently took to the athletic fields to begin practices for the spring season. Each spring, hundreds of girls from Syosset, Woodbury and Jericho in grades K through 9 play SYAC softball. SYAC has four divisions: Instructional (grades K-1), Pony (2-3), Junior (4-5), and Senior (6-9).

The season begins on April 23 and extends to playoffs in early June. Teams hold practices before the season begins, and once the season starts, there are several games a week. Games are held on weekday evenings.

The annual SYAC Girls Softball Skills Clinic will be held Saturday, April 21 at Syosset-Woodbury Park. The clinic is free to all girls registered to play SYAC.

Session 1 is for Pony, Junior and Senior division players and will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Session 2 is for Instructional division players and will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Please register for the clinic by emailing  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
