Team Heads to Florida for Nationals

On Sunday, Dec. 11, the Syosset High School Varsity Cheerleading Team competed at a Regional Level Competition in Pennsylvania and successfully qualified for the UCA High School Nationals Cheerleading Competition being held in Orlando, Florida. This is the first time the Varsity Cheerleaders have achieved this accomplishment, setting a new standard for the team.

The High School Nationals will take place from Feb. 11 – Feb. 12 in Walt Disney World. The team is honored to have made it this far and has been practicing intensely for the past few months.

The girls are hopeful that they will again succeed during the next level of competition. Additionally, the cheerleaders have been fundraising for this trip through bake sales, sponsorships, and restaurant events.

On Tuesday Jan. 24, the team will be hosting an event at 516 American Kitchen and Bar Restaurant in Syosset during both lunch and dinner with 10 percent of the restaurant’s earnings for the day being donated to the team. There will also be a silent auction with gift certificates and gift baskets. Anyone is welcome to join us for this event. Come by to have a great meal, win some raffles and help support the team
