The core of the now-fourth-grade-boys Syosset Lacrosse Team has been participating in lacrosse together for the last four years. Playing together since the K-2 Sylax (Syosset Youth Lacrosse) clinic, they have formed a special bond that has proven successful, posting a 7-1-1 overall record this past spring season.
The same group participated in the first ever Nassau County Summer Youth Lacrosse League held at Cantiague Park in Hicksville. Syosset were the undefeated Third/Fourth Grade Division Champs. Teams from Farmingdale, Bethpage and Seaford also competed.
In the spring 2011 season, the team achieved wins over teams from Kings Park, Dix Hills, Farmingdale, Huntington, Levittown, Plainedge and Plainview. The coaches awarded the Most Improved/ Most Coachable Players Awards to Thomas Dociotto of Village Elementary School and John Dionisio of South Grove Elementary School.2012 Spring PAL season registration and Syosset Spartan Travel team registration information can be found at www.sylax.org; there is an early PAL registration special until Jan. 31.
