This year’s election in the Town of Oyster Bay is once again directly connected to the future fate of the proposed mall on the former Cerro Wire property on Robbins Lane in Syosset.
Based on recent activities initiated by the developer, all signs indicate the Taubman Company is gearing up for another major push for its mall project. For more than 15 years the community has waged a successful battle against the mall. However, Taubman is now saying times have changed and opposition from the surrounding area is minimal.
That’s why, as residents in the community that would be most adversely affected by the mall, we need to ensure that John Venditto is re-elected Supervisor on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
The reason: Supervisor John Venditto has been committed to opposing the proposed mall on the former Cerro Wire property in Syosset. A vote for him is a vote against the mall.
Supervisor Venditto heard our voices when it counted the most and has consistently acted in the best interests of the community by steadfastly opposing the mall. Whether you are a Republican, Democrat, Independent or otherwise, our battle against the mall takes precedence over party affiliation. This is our chance to show how much we support Supervisor Venditto’s ongoing efforts to stop the mall by casting our vote for him on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Let’s send a clear message on Election Day that our No Mall Here position is as strong as ever.
