Kristallnacht Observance

Seventy five years ago, November 9, 10, 11, 1938, the Nazis went on a rampage and set on fire synagogues all over Germany and Austria, smashing Jewish-owned shop windows along the way and arresting Jewish males above the age of 18, to incarcerate them in concentration camps. There were a few countries that tried to save the lives of their Jewish citizens. One of these countries was Bulgaria. There will also be a screening of the documentary, Beyond Hitler’s Grasp, which tells the amazing, heartwarming, incredible story of the rescue of Bulgarian Jewry, under the very nose of the Nazis. Jericho Jewish Center, 430 N. Broadway, Jericho. 516-938-2540. Open to public, 7:15 p.m.
