Seventy five years ago, November 9, 10, 11, 1938, the Nazis went on a rampage and set on fire synagogues all over Germany and Austria, smashing Jewish-owned shop windows along the way and arresting Jewish males above the age of 18, to incarcerate them in concentration camps. There were a few countries that tried to save the lives of their Jewish citizens. One of these countries was Bulgaria. There will also be a screening of the documentary, Beyond Hitler’s Grasp, which tells the amazing, heartwarming, incredible story of the rescue of Bulgarian Jewry, under the very nose of the Nazis.
