The League of Women Voters of East Nassau is presenting a timely and informative forum on Health Care in the U.S. The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library, 999 Old Country Rd., in the Community Room. The participants will be Mark Hannay, Metro New York Health Care for All Campaign, who will speak on “National Health Care - What’s Happening in Washington?”; Martha Livingston – Physicians For A National Health Program, addressing “Single Payer Health Care: What Are We Waiting For?”; Deborah Elliott – New York State Nurses Association, talking about “Advocating For Patients Through Reform”; Rachel Kreier – Assistant Professor of Economics, Hofstra University, discussing “U.S. Health Care Reform: Costs, Benefits, Winners, Losers.” All are welcome.

COPE, a grief and healing organization dedicated to supporting parents and families living with the loss of a child, holds monthly support groups meetings on two Thursdays a month for parents. The next meeting will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Elias Hicks Historical Home, 1740 Old Jericho Tpke., Jericho. COPE also plans to start up sibling support groups on Long Island. The topic for the month is “Surviving and Succeeding with ADHD” given by Beth Kaplanek, past president of C.H.A.D.D. The meeting will be held in the Middle School Library.
