March 9, 2009 - The Long Island Fury of the Women's Premier Soccer League is very pleased to announce that forward Samantha Falk of Jericho will play for the Mid-Atlantic Division champions in 2009.

"Sam is a speedy striker with great athletic ability. She is a handful for most defenders and I am very hopeful she can make the next step up the ladder to the Long Island Fury," commented Long Island Fury head coach Paul Riley. "She has a blistering shot and can change a game in an instant."

The Jericho High School senior also plays for her school as well as the Long Island Junior Soccer League's Albertson Fury '90, currently ranked fourth in the nation. She describes her best moment on a soccer field as "scoring the first goal in my first State Cup final championship game with Albertson, vs. Rockville Centre in 2008."

At Jericho High, the awards kept on coming as she was honored as Rookie of the Year in 2005, All-Conference in 2006, All-Class in 2007, All-County and Most Outstanding Player of the Year in 2008. Falk will start playing for the University of Miami Hurricanes this fall.

The 18-year-old is fun to be around and "loves making people laugh and entertaining people."
