Six boys from the Jericho Galaxy and their families went to Florida Jan. 17 - 19 to participate in the Kick It 3 v 3. World Championship. Last June, the boys came in first place at the Jericho 3 v 3 tournament, which led them to an August trip to the Regional in York, PA. They qualified to continue playing at Disney's Wide World of Sports Arena and had an incredible time. The competition was fierce but the boys held their own. They finished third in their division, earning a place in the playoffs, where they were defeated by the #1 seed.
More important than winning was the experience these boys had - they challenged teams from all over the country and enjoyed their friends for an awesome weekend. They played well as a team and showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Amazing offensive play was demonstrated by Adam Garten, Steven Gerschwer, Jordan Miller and Mathew Rothstein. These boy worked together time after time to pass and score. Amazing defensive skills were displayed by Ari Kantorowitz and Brandon Weiss. They made it incredibly difficult for their opponents to succeed. Coaches Dave Gerschwer, Phil Weiss, Lisa Rothstein, as well as their families, were very proud of their effort, cohesiveness and sportsmanship.
