Although weather was once again a major factor, the Braves gave it their all. Unlike the scorching heat of the past weeks, this time, the Braves had to contend with drizzle and high humidity - not exactly football weather. But through it all, they played with spirit. Here's what happened... It was another tough loss for the Peanuts, Bethpage scored 14 to Syossets' 7. Kent Sato scored the only touchdown, but the Peanuts were down by the goal line 3 times during the game. All of the boys played great. The offense was led down the field by quarterback Joseph Doria III and the great blocking of John Harris. Our defense was led by the great tackling of Johnny Maccerone and Johnnie Rebuth. Although the Peanut team does not have a win yet, they get better every week. "They are all winners in my eyes." said head coach Joe Doria. The Syosset Pee Wee Red football team won again on Sunday improving their record to 3 wins and 1 loss. The boys played a great game against a tough Bayville team, outscoring Bayville 18-6. Dominick Speranza, Stephen Conte and Jack Rooney all scored touchdowns. The play of the day was made by Aidan Adomaites who chased a Bayville running back 50 yards and caught him on the 5 yard line preventing a touchdown. Richie Whigham, Tyler Parlo, Nicky Carchietta, Kevin Paek, Ryan Ditkoff, Max Inoff, Skylar Chananya, and Max Verch all played outstanding on Defense. Peewee black plays hard to the end but comes up short The games 3rd play was a 65 yard touchdown run for Andrew Harris. Chris Belmonte ran a 40 yard punt to back up Seaford .The defense hard play was led by Ryan Lebson and Stephen Fanelli but the play of the game came in the 4th quarter when Ian Samide picked off Seaford's quarterback and ran the interception 55 yards with great blocking from Mike Andre. Syosset Midget Red improved their record to 2-1 on the season with a convincing win over the Wantagh Warriors. The defense gang tackled with punishing stops made by the middle line backers Benjamin Wachtel and Hunter Principe while Andrew Weld, Eddie Fox, Andrew Frankini and Jack Lukacovic added a few touchdown saving tackles in the open field.

Pony Red lost a heartbreaker to the West Hempstead Broncos by a score of 19 to 14. Pony Red jumped out to the lead with Sean Cerrone, Gregory Galligan and Brad Balogh accounting for Pony Red's scores. The offensive line of Michael Panvini, Michael Verdello, Alec Yacavone, Jonah DiMaggio and Jack Randazzo played its best game of the season. The game went down to the wire with West Hempstead scoring its final touchdown in the fourth quarter with just a few minutes left on the clock. This hard fought, intense game was marked by the incredible enthusiasm of Pony Red's cheerleaders: Gina Cavaseno, Gigi Ericson, Billie Green, Megan Leahy, Francesca Marchese, Nicole Marchese, Anna Muskopf, Brielle Napoli, Casey Powers, Zoe Strong, Amelia Taggert and Kelly Terjesen. A special thanks to Pony Red's great cheerleaders!

"Hammertime" for Pony Black! Pony Black destroyed Valley Stream 47 to 12 on Sunday and while it was certainly a team effort as everyone saw a lot of playing time, one player stood out -- Travis Hammer. He hit the trifecta, converted a hat trick and did something on the field that has not been done in Syosset Football history. He successfully kicked each field goal that he attempted for extra points after multiple touchdowns; he ran for a touchdown, and then he not only had one interception, he had two! No surprise that his teammates have decided to nickname him "MC."

In addition to Hammer, Robert Speranza also scored; in fact, he scored three touchdowns to be exact. Vincent Speranza and Perry Lehrhoff scored touchdowns, as well! While the offense had a great day, the defense was also on fire with significant contributions made by Cody Miller, Matthew Kahl and Matthew and Anthony Costa
