SYAC Travel softball teams were in full action this past weekend, as they compete in league play in the softball division of the NJBL.

In addition, teams from four age divisions in the regular SYAC weekday program held practices all over town, in anticipation of the start of the spring season on April 28.

In a Syosset vs. Syosset matchup at Syosset-Woodbury Park, the Hurricanes and the Storm battled it out in a spirited doubleheader on Sunday, April 13. Both teams are in the U10 division of the NJBL.

At H.B. Thompson's Longo Field, the Xtreme, a U14 squad, took on the Plainview Pythons in two games. The Thunder, which this season moved up in age to the U12 division, traveled east to Miller Place for two games.

Tryouts for travel teams for the summer and for the next school year will be held in late May and early June. For more information: www.syacgs.org.
