Syosset-Woodbury has had its share of show business success stories in recent years: Natalie Portman, Judd Apatow, Idina Menzel, and Adam Paschal being some names that immediately come to mind. However, long before any of the above made their mark, there was Billy Schulman, a 13-year-old Woodbury resident who starred alongside David McCallum and Ossie Davis in Teacher, Teacher, a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie that debuted on NBC in February of 1969.

County Executive Race Too Close to Call

Residents headed for the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 3 - Election Day 2009 - to vote for their candidates of choice.


Sports

The Syosset Hurricanes reached the finals of the Bruce Gary Columbus Day Softball Tournament in Bellmore on Columbus Day weekend. They lost to Merrick in the championship game but were 4-2 overall to capture second place in their first tournament. The Hurricanes, a SYAC Travel team, also compete in the NJBL Softball League, where they play up in the U12 Division.

With only one week to go in the regular season, our teams are continuing to impress with their skill, dedication and determination. Each and every team has continued to put on incredible shows that have kept our fans on the edge of their seat. Here’s what happened this week:
