Finals Fever is being felt all around town, as the playoffs for SYAC Girls Softball season is making champions of some teams and wait-till-next-years of others.

Butera's proved their championship mettle, as they captured the crown of the SYAC Senior League on Monday, June 11. Driven by another spectacular pitching performance by Nivia Suresh, Butera's topped Max & Gino's by a score of 7-4 in a hard-fought contest at Syosset-Woodbury Park. In the semi-finals, Butera's beat UBS Capital Gains, which claimed first place in the American Division of the Senior League this year. Also in the semi's, Max & Gino's upset the mighty RPT Bombers, which took first place in the National Division with a 9-1 record.

In other action, the Instructional League wrapped up its season on June 11, and playoffs continued for the Pony and Junior Leagues with huge crowds of fans cheering on their teams.

More than 500 girls from kindergarten through eighth grade participate in SYAC Girls Softball. Results of the SYAC Travel Tryouts soon will be announced on the SYAC Website. For more information: www.syacgs.org.
