Jericho School District Budget Vote Set for Tuesday, May 15
The Jericho Board of Education unanimously adopted the proposed 2007-2008 school district budget at an open meeting on March 15, 2007. The $95,683,737 budget represents a 6.9 percent increase over last year's budgeted expenditures. The budget increase will result in a 6.9 percent increase in the tax levy.

Corbin Removed as Legislature's Deputy Presiding Officer
On April 25, Nassau County Legislator Roger Corbin (D-Westbury) received a letter informing him that he was removed, effective immediately, from the appointed position as deputy presiding officer. The letter, sent from Presiding Officer Judith Jacobs (D-Woodbury), stated that it "has become apparent that [Corbin is] unwilling to work toward the goals of the caucus."

JAA Fall Intramural Soccer Registration
Registration will begin for the Jericho Athletic Association's 2007 Fall intramural soccer season. The program is open to those children who attend Jericho schools from Pre-K thru 5th grade. The program will include weekly instructional clinics supervised by professional soccer trainers, and a weekly intramural league game.

Syosset Lacrosse Is Off and Running
SYLAX lacrosse teams have started the season with a bang. After two games, Syosset's fourth grade white team is 1 and 1 with two strong games against Division 1 teams. Playing against Manhasset was a challenge but with strong offense from Alex Concannon, Drew Rauch, and Jordan Rauch Syosset came out on top with a 6-2 win. There was strong attack presence from Vinny Spreanza, Jeremy Kaplan, Mat Buetti and Mathew Avidon. The defense was held together by Jonathan "the wall" Klobus in goal and Nick "the bull" Balos with Jack Parlo, Perry Fienstein and Richie Prestigard all holding down the fort
