  • News: Jericho Students Advance to Finals in Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision Awards Program

    Jericho High School students Yvette Leung (9th grade) and Pooja Rambhia (9th grade), and Jericho Middle School student Sagar Rambhia (7th grade), have earned a regional award in the annual Toshiba/National Science Teachers Association ExploraVision Awards program. Coached by their science teacher, Christopher Hoppner, the Jericho team's project, "Complete Protein Microarray System: Saving Lives With Early Diagnosis," envisioned a fully equipped and automated protein microarray system that extracts human protein samples and compares them with a biochip reference base containing cancer proteins to provide accurate and reliable data for early diagnosis and treatment of cancer to save lives.   • News: TOB Honors 2007 'Women of Distinction'

    Laura Schultz has been an advocate for her community for many years. Laura is one of the founders of Residents for a More Beautiful Syosset, a local civic group that works to beautify and improve safety in Syosset through the efforts of residents, business owners and elected officials. She currently serves as vice president and government liaison. Through the organization, Schultz manages projects for pedestrian & traffic safety, beautification and downtown revitalization. She is a member of the town's steering committee for the Syosset Downtown Revitalization and Redevelopment Plan, the Friends of Syosset Public Library, the Jericho-Syosset-Woodbury Child Care Partnership and the Syosset Chamber of Commerce. She has also worked with the county to help improve the Jackson Avenue corridor from Jericho Turnpike to the downtown area. Schultz can often be seen at town board meetings, making sure the voice of her community is heard. FULL STORY
