Syosset Students Earn Highest Music Honor
Four Syosset High School students have received the highest honor awarded by NYSSMA, the New York State School Music Association, and have been invited to perform in the All Eastern Ensembles at the Music Educators National Conference (MENC). The Conference will take place from March 8 through March 11 and the students will be accompanied by Syosset High School music teacher Dr. Barry White. Also attending are Syosset music teachers David Dolgon and Melissa Reale.

Jericho Boys Varsity Swim Team Captures First Conference Championship
The Jericho Boys Varsity Swimming and Diving Team won the Conference II Championship for the first time in the history of the program. Their record for the season was 9-0. The team, which was eighth in the county meet, broke two school records:

Syosset High School Grapplers Win Big
For the first time in 18 years, Syosset High School Varsity Wrestlers under the direction of Jamie St. John, Mike Murtha and Stephan Sere won their qualifying tournament, sending 14 wrestlers to the County competition at C.W. Post this past Feb. 17 and 18. The 14 boys who achieved All-Conference status, included: Danny Arnel, Sam Galasso and Alex Locke at 96 lbs., Nick Arajau at 103 lbs., Andrew Arnel and Ryan Chimon at 112 lbs., Brett Forman and David Chimon at 119 lbs., Craig Vogel at 152 lbs., Paul Laruccia at 160 lbs., Oliver Ennis at 171 lbs., Matt Cho at 189 lbs., Eric Andonian at 215 lbs and Chris Williams at 275 lbs. A special recognition to Danny Arnel, Nick Arajau, Andrew Arnel and Brett Forman, all took first place in their weight classes at the qualifier! This victory was the culmination of a tough season of competitions in a most difficult bracket with seasoned wrestling teams.
