  • News: Jericho Named to 'Best 100 Communities for Music Education in America'

    In a survey conducted by the Perseus Development Corporation, Jericho Public Schools was named to "Best 100 Communities for Music Education in America." This survey, open to all schools in the United States, is supported by a partnership of leading organizations in the fields of music and education: the American Music Conference, the National School Boards Association, The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, The Metropolitan Opera Guild, Music For All, NAMM, The International Music Products Association, National Guild of Community School of the Arts, the Music Teachers National Association, the Yamaha Corporation of America and VH-1 Save the Music.   • News: Fire Destroys St. Bede's Rectory

    The rectory, which was originally built in 1967, was lost as well as most, if not all, of Father William Parker's personal belongings as the rectory was the priest's home for the last seven years. Fr. Parker was luckily, not at home at the time the fire broke out. He had just left about an hour prior to the fire to attend a course out of town. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Jericho Youth Football League Registration for Tackle and Flag

    Monday night, March 26 and Tuesday night, March 27 between 6 and 9 p.m. at Jackson Elementary School's cafeteria the Jericho Youth Football League will be holding their flag and tackle football programs registration for the Fall 2007 season. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Caumsett State Park Hosts Record Breaking USA Track & Field 50 Kilometer Championship Run

    Thirty-three-year-old University of Washington visiting lecturer Gregory Crowther of Seattle dueled 29-year-old David Welsh of Mullica Hill, New Jersey for the first 11 laps of the course at Caumsett State Park on Sunday, March 4, before pulling away in the 12th and final lap to score a convincing triumph in the 2007 USA Track & Field 50 Kilometer Championship Run. Crowther's 3 hour, 4 minute, 35 second finish broke Jason Saita's 2006 course record of 3:05:59 by over a full minute, with Welsh crossing the line in 3:07:06. Derek Dippon of Cedar, Minnesota was third in 3:26:35. Top Masters finisher was 41-year-old Glen Redpath in 3:27:55. FULL STORY
