Syosset High School Walk-A-Thon Raises Funds
The Maurer Foundation for Breast Health Education announces receipt of a generous donation from Syosset High School. The school recently hosted a walk-a-thon to benefit The Maurer Foundation in-school breast health literacy programs.

Jericho Students Collect Sports Equipment for Charity
In 2001, Julie Rosenfeld, who lives in Florida, founded On The Rebound, a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the collection and distribution of new and gently used sports equipment to disadvantaged children. This organization serves the Palm Beach and Broward Counties. In an effort to expand this organization, David and Matthew Weiss, Julie's cousins, were elected to serve as co-presidents of the New York Region of On The Rebound.

Knights of Columbus Holds Free Throw Contest
The Joseph J. Gorman Council Knights of Columbus of Syosset will again be sponsoring a basketball free throw shooting contest at the local level of competition for the year 2007. The date will be Sunday, Jan. 21. It will be held at Saint Edwards the Confessor RC Church's new gym. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. All boys and girls from 10 to 14 years old before Jan. 1, are invited to participate. All participants will receive a certificate and the first 30 children will receive a special Knights of Columbus patch.

SYAC Girls Softball announces two more upcoming Registration & Evaluation Nights for the spring 2007 SYAC Softball Season. Girls from kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to participate in this program.
