Jericho Teacher Named to 2006 All-USA Teacher Team
Susan Menkes, an art teacher at the Cantiague Elementary School, was honored as a member of the 2006 All-USA Teacher Team on October 19, 2006. Menkes is one of only 20 educators from across the nation selected for this USA Today team of outstanding teachers. As a winner in the ninth annual teacher recognition program, Menkes will share a $2500 award with her school.

Jericho Schools Adult Ed Registration Begins
The Jericho School District is establishing an Adult Education Program. Courses will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 -7:30 pm and 7:45-9:15 pm.

Jericho Varsity Girls Tennis Team Defends County Title
The Jericho Varsity Girls Tennis Team reigns supreme once again. After finishing the regular season with an undefeated record of 14-0, the team swept through the county playoffs to improve their record to 16-0. Their 7-0 semifinal shutout win over Garden City was followed by a remarkable 7-0 shutout of Syosset in the finals. This comes as little surprise to the girls who dominated teams all year, outscoring their opponents 98-14 in total points. More impressive is the fact that this is the 2nd consecutive year that Jericho has been crowned Undefeated County Champions under the direction of Coach Colleen O'Connell, improving their unbeaten streak to 32 matches.
