Syosset Schools Ready for Opening Day, September Sixth
Syosset's 10 schools are ready for students on opening day, Wednesday, September 6. All students, grades kindergarten through 12, will have a full day of instruction according to the regular school schedule. School calendars have been mailed to all district residents.

The Jericho Middle School will begin the 2006-2007 school year with a warm and enthusiastic welcome to Donald Gately, the new principal. Gately comes to Jericho after serving as principal for five years at the Howard B. Mattlin Middle School in the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District.

Mother Nature must love the Nassau County Museum of Art, because she brought the best possible summer morning weather to Roslyn Harbor on the morning of August 13 for the 3rd annual Ohrenstein & Brown Sprint for the Arts, and local runners responded with a bunch of smiling faces and fast times over the 5-kilometer course.
