Senator Marcellino Helps Syosset FD Upgrade Lifesaving Defibrillators
The Syosset Fire District is upgrading all automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) and advanced cardiac monitoring units on board all ambulances and fire apparatus used by the Syosset Fire Department (SFD). A total of 32 new units were purchased through a grant from State Senator Carl Marcellino.

The Fresh Air Fund, an independent not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877 and the Stephenson's from Syosset took part in the program this year.

Jericho Jay Sox Get Off to Good Start
The Jericho Jay Sox 10 and under baseball team has gotten off to a 3-3 start in the Mid Island Division. After starting the season by defeating Hicksville, 3-0 and Oceanside, 9-7, the Jay Sox suffered back-to-back losses to East Meadow and Merrick. Jericho bounced back with an 11-3 win over Westbury before suffering an 11-10 loss to Manhasset.

Syosset Storm Wins Again
The Syosset Storm continued its winning ways, with a thrilling 10-7 victory over previously unbeaten Glen Head on July 24. This SYAC summer travel softball team brought its record to 2-1 in the U10 division of the Glen Cove Mayor's Trophy.
