Syosset Baseball Association recently announced an invitation to the families of Syosset Baseball Association to the annual all-star games and barbecue to be held this upcoming Saturday, May 27 at Syosset/Woodbury Community Park.
As always, this event is one of Syosset Baseball Association's premier events. Games will start at 8:30 a.m. with the 8-year-old division all-stars. At 11 a.m. the 9-year-old division all-stars will take the fields. The 1:15 p.m. game features our major league division game, followed by the 10-year-old division at 3:30 p.m. and finishing up with our AAA division at 5:45 p.m.
Throughout the day, the traditional barbecue with complimentary hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon and condiments will be manned by the Syosset Baseball Association board member volunteers.
Anticipated guest for his third year will be the Long Island Duck's mascot, Quackerjack, scheduled to appear between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All games are played in memory of Brian Murphy who played youth baseball in the league and passed on several years ago, way before his time.
Syosset Baseball Association looks forward to a fun-filled day of baseball, fun and get together with players, family and friends.
Rain date will be Sunday, May 28.
Additionally, Syosset Baseball Association will be strongly represented in Monday's Memorial Day parade down Jackson Avenue. All players and families are urged to be a part of this patriotic community event and assemble with Syosset Baseball Association at the Variety School on Humphrey prior to the kick-off of the parade at 10 a.m.
