Ganz Sentenced for DWI Quadruple Fatality
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice announced that Gerrard Ganz, of Syosset, was sentenced to a term of incarceration of one and one-third years to four years for his involvement in the September 2004 crash that caused the deaths of four teens. Ganz' vehicle collided head-on with a car occupied by the victims on Old Country Road in Westbury, sending the vehicle into a pole and igniting it in flames.

Syosset Intel Finalist Is Headed to Washington
Syosset High School senior Diane Choi has been named a finalist in the 2006 Intel Science Talent Search. As a Finalist, she is awarded a $5,000 college scholarship and will go on to compete further. The top scholarship prize to be awarded will be $100,000.
